William F. Banks Jr.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 William F. Banks, Jr. passed away at the age of 86. William was born on July 9, 1935 at Fort Banks in Winthrop, Massachusetts. William served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1955 to 1958 and moved to Wilton Manors in 1959. William was a firefighter for the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department from 1963 to 1992. After retirement in 1992 he served the citizens of Wilton Manors as Fire Inspector from 1992 to 2010. William is survived by his son William K. Banks, his daughter-in-law Lisa Banks and his granddaughter Madison Banks. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Wilton Manors, 2725 N.E. 14th Avenue, Wilton Manors, Florida with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at South Florida VA National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida.
