WILTON MANORS

Richard "Rick" Michael Dorsett

In Loving Memory of Richard “Rick” Michael Dorsett

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Michael Dorsett—a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend—who left this world far too soon.

Rick was a kind and generous soul who touched the lives of many. His presence brough warmth, laughter, and a sense of security that will be deeply missed. Born with a heart full of compassion and spirit, he was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Whether it was family, a neighbor, or a stranger, Rick never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Dorsett; his mother, Janice Dorsett; his niece, Lauren Dorsett; his in-laws, Louis and Linda Nicolo; and a cherished extended family in Ohio, California, and Washington.

Rick was devoted family man whose love ran deep. Rick was a loving and dedicated husband to Jennifer, who was not only his partner but the love of his life. Together they shared a bond that was strong, true, and unwavering. Rick gave her everything and more, a home, a life, and a greater love than could be imagined.  He was a constant source of strength and kindness to his mother, Janice. As an uncle, he cherished every moment with his niece and nephew, Ryan Dorsett (deceased)

Rick had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He took great pride in landscaping and caring for his lawn, always making his home a peaceful and welcoming place. A true sports enthusiast, Rick cheered with unwavering loyalty for the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Braves. He was also a sharp-minded negotiator, deeply admiring the book “The Art of the Deal”. He approached life with a bold vision and a gift for meaningful connection.

Rick’s final chapter was filled with extraordinary support from those who loved him. Billy Kane was by his side daily, helping with medical needs and taking care of the house. He offered comfort, strength, and unwavering devotion. Rusty Berg brought steady companionship at the hospital—whether to lift Rick’s spirits or shave his head, ensuring he felt dignified and cared for. For Rick's last meal, his friend Johnny Putzig brought him lobster, which Rick savored every bite and truly enjoyed it. Rick was loved and adorned by many friends, which was a true testament to the kind of person he was. His sense of humor and easy going nature brought joy to those around him.

Rick’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and selflessness. His strength, humor, and deep capacity for love will never be forgotten. Though Rick has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Rest easy. Until we meet again.
