Keelan A. Bailey

Keelan A. Bailey passed away on June 5, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was a beloved husband, cherished friend, and dedicated animal advocate. His absence is deeply felt by all who knew him. Keelan had an extraordinary gift for making people feel seen and understood. His ability to find just the right words in difficult moments brought comfort to many and showcased his unique sensitivity and kindness. His perspective on life, paired with a remarkable sense of humor, allowed him to find silver linings even in tough situations, brightening the lives of everyone around him.

Keelan built a successful career in the IT sector, where he focused on securing and optimizing banking systems. His professionalism and dedication to his field were matched only by his passion for caring for animals. Together with his wife, Misty, Keelan fostered and cared for dozens of sick and homeless cats and kittens, often providing round-the-clock care for the most vulnerable. Prior to his work in IT, he had the rare experience of caring for lions and tigers at a big cat sanctuary—proof of his deep love for all creatures, great and small.

Keelan also loved live music and Marvel and Star Wars movies, treasuring the time spent enjoying them with his wife and friends. He found joy in life’s simplest pleasures: laughter, companionship, and the warmth of his beloved pets. Keelan was happiest when he was with his wife and their cats, surrounded by the things and people he loved most.

Keelan is survived by his devoted wife, Misty; brothers Michael, Pete, Buzz, and their families; and many dear friends who will forever remember him for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support. A celebration of Keelan’s life will be held June 7, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Riverside Market in Plantation. We invite everyone to share stories and laughter in his memory, just as he would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Good Karma Pet Rescue.
