Carol Matrille
Carol Jane Matrille, 97, of Oakland Park died with her family by her side on
Monday November 27, 2023. Carol came to South Florida with her husband
Bernard in 1980 from Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was a loving wife and
enduring inspiration to her 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Carol and her husband were founding members of the Utica Community Schools
Foundation and St. Matthais Catholic Church. Carol was an expert seamstress,
gourmet cook, and her door was always open to her family, friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Drenning of Ft. Lauderdale; Mary (James)
Brooks of Aztec, New Mexico; Teresa (Terrence) White of Oakland Park; Kathryn
(Gary) Peshl of Paw Paw, Michigan; son James (Vicky) Matrille of Orlando; and
brother Robert (Peaches) Harbourne of Savannah. A service will be held Tuesday,
December 5, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the South Florida VA National Cemetery 6501 S.
SR#7 in Lake Worth. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Bernard. Online
