Arthur (Art) Harry Stonelake, Jr.

July 15, 1950 – May 14, 2026

It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Art on May 14, 2026.

We know he is now safely home, wrapped in the arms of his mother Clara, father Arthur, brother Gary, and all the dear family members and friends who left before him. You can almost hear their laughter as they sit together again, swapping stories and reliving all the great memories they made with him over the years.

Born into a Navy family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 15, 1950, Art grew up moving from place to place until the family finally settled in Miami, Florida, in 1957. That early life of duty and change helped shape the steady, resilient man he became. He graduated from Miami Carol City High School in 1968. After high school Art enlisted in the Navy and served honorably during the Vietnam War, continuing the family tradition of service with quiet strength and dedication. He went on to graduate from Florida State University in 1976. After graduation, he had a life-long successful career as a local Real Estate Agent in South Florida. Art spent the rest of his life quietly looking after everyone around him. He was the family’s caretaker … the one who always made sure you were okay … and the peacemaker who could calm any storm with his gentle presence. Whether you were family or friend, Art had a way of making you feel truly seen and cared for. His loyalty ran deep, and he cherished every single friendship with a warmth and generosity that left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

To us, he wasn’t just a brother and uncle, he was the steady, kind-hearted soul who brought people together and made the world feel a little softer and brighter. He put others first without making a fuss about it, living with a quiet integrity that spoke louder than words.

A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on June 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM, at the South Florida VA National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Art’s memory to St Jude Children’s Hospital or simply pause for a moment and remember his gentle spirit and the way he made everyone feel at home.

Art is survived by his brothers Joseph M. Stonelake and Gregory A. Stonelake (Linda), seven nieces and nephews Joseph, Christopher, Steven, Nichole, Heather, David, and Dana Stonelake — many great-nieces and great-nephews, and a wide circle of friends who became family over the years.

Thank you for the love and support you gave Art throughout his life. He will be remembered always as the wonderful, caring man who touched so many hearts … our beloved caretaker and peacemaker, forever.

With heavy hearts and endless love, The Stonelake Family
