Glen James Arnal

December 28, 1966 — June 13, 2016

Glen James Arnal, 49, of Dania Beach, Florida died Monday, June 13, 2016. Glen was born in Los Angeles, California on December 28, 1966 and moved to Broward County in 1969. He attended elementary and middle schools in Plantation, Fl and graduated from Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Fl. Glen attended Cornell College in Iowa City, Iowa, where he played football and maintained a 4.0 GPA. After graduation from Cornell College, Glen returned to South Florida to live and work where he felt at home and where his family lived. He worked at several long-term jobs over the years, landing his dream job at the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department department in 1994. During his over 20 years with the Fire Department, Glen rose to the rank of Captain and received four official letters of commendation and numerous letters of appreciation from people he helped both on and off his work shifts. Throughout his life, Glen was interested in all kinds of travel, adventure and he actively participated in all kinds of sports: football, baseball, cycling, golfing, kayaking, white-water rafting, skiing and snowboarding. He also loved being in and near the ocean and swam in it regularly. In 1992 Glen met his biological mother, Terri (Theresa Marie) MacKay, a Los Angeles filmmaker. In early 1998, Glen decided he wanted to find his biological father, James Lucien Cuseo. In 1999, Glen learned that his biological father, an Aspen, CO builder and war-bird pilot, died July 15, 1984 as a passenger in a plane crash; but he discovered that he had a half sister and brother, Gina Cuseo-Vitali and Michael James Cuseo. Glen met them and their mother Susan Cuseo, in August of 2003 in Santa Cruz, CA. In 2010, Glen met the extended Cuseo family at their multi-day Tomales Bay reunion. Over the years, Glen shared skiing and hiking vacations with his biological family. Glen was predeceased in death by his father, James Alexander Arnal, of Clayton, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Sharon, of St. Augustine, FL; his mother, Laura Jean Arnal, of Clayton, Georgia; his sister, Raylinn (and Richard) Smith, of Plantation, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws in Fl. He is also survived by extended family in FL, GA, NC, PA, NE, IL and OR.
