Patricia Bartkowiak Carter

Patricia B. Carter 73, of Fort Lauderdale died following a heroic battle with cancer. Pat was a long time resident of Coral Gables, followed by Fort Lauderdale and Lauderdale By The Sea.  Born in East Chicago, Indiana she grew up in South Bend, Indiana. Pat retired as an administrator for the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami, and then worked for Buschel, Carter, Schwartzreich & Yates law firm.  She was predeceased by her Father Joseph Bartkowiak, Mother Gertrude Bartkowiak, Sister Marilyn Bartkowiak and Son Joe Carter. Survived by her Son: Dave (Lyndia) Carter of Weston, Daughter in Law:  Shari Carter of Ft. Lauderdale. Brothers: Jim Bartkowiak of Margate, Fl. and Mike Bartkowiak of South Bend, Indiana. Sister: Judy Monjeau of Niles Michigan. Grandchildren: Zachary, Aiden, Drew and Dylan. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday May 9, 2014, family and friends will be welcome at 5:30 with the mass at 6:30 at St. Anthony Catholic Church 901 N.E. 2 Street, Ft. Lauderdale with a celebration of her life to continue at the Ft. Lauderdale Firefighters Benevolent hall located at 309 S.W. 26 St., Ft. Lauderdale.  On line condolences can be shared at edkalis.com.
