Wim van Akelijen

Wim van Akelijen 74 of Ft. Lauderdale passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2013. Born and raised in Rotterdam, Holland where he played professional soccer for Excelsior Football Club. Wim came to New York City in 1965, became a US citizen and established himself in the fruit and vegetable importing business. He was the lover of all sports; especially horse racing. He is survived by his wife Janis, Son: Robert (Jeanette) of Greenville, SC. and Daughter: Michele of Dubai, UAE. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013. 1:30PM at the First Presbyterian church of Pompano Beach, 2331 N.E. 26th Avenue.
